Full course description
This course introduces the key elements of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), a framework used to provide targeted academic, behavioural, and social-emotional support for students. The course is NESA accredited for 20 hours and consists of 8 modules designed for support staff, teachers, counsellors, and school leaders—essentially anyone responsible for student support in a school setting. Through engaging activities and real-world case studies, participants will explore how to implement MTSS effectively. They will gain an understanding of the three-tiered model of support, which ranges from universal supports to targeted and intensive supports for students with greater needs. Key topics include: Using data-based decision making to assess student progress. Implementing differentiated supports for diverse learners. Integrating academic, behavioural, and social-emotional interventions. Collaborating across roles to ensure consistent student support. This course emphasises practical skills and application, showing participants how to use MTSS frameworks to improve student outcomes. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of how MTSS applies in real school contexts, equipping them to contribute to student success and the overall school environment.
